About Lawn Dawg
Who is Lawn Dawg?

Our mission is to provide the best service in our industry. The History of Lawn Dawg
In 1983, Jim Campanella, the President of Lawn Dawg, started in lawn care as a technician for Old Fox Lawn Care in Chelmsford, MA. He worked his way into management before Old Fox sold to TruGreen in 1988. Jim relocated to Portland, ME for an opportunity to open a new branch for a company called Lawnmark. Jim built Lawnmark of Maine into the largest local lawn service in just 4 years. In 1993 Jim was transferred to Albany, NY to oversee 3 offices for Lawnmark. Later that year Lawnmark sold to Barefoot Grass and they relocated Jim to Nashua, NH and put him in charge of their New England region. The experience and knowledge Jim gained during those years would help develop the plan that would differentiate Lawn Dawg from the competition. Jim listened carefully over the years to the things his customers and employees liked and didn’t like about the companies. Jim used that experience to create a company that would focus on customer service, employee development and morale, and stewardship of the environment.
In January of 1997 Lawn Dawg officially opened in a small office space in Hudson, NH. With a pickup truck and a spreader, Jim began the journey that has brought Lawn Dawg to where it is today. Our core values have remained strong as our customer retention rates are far better than industry average, and we have become a recognized leader in environmentally responsible lawn care.
In 2015, Lawn Dawg added pest control services to our portfolio. With the ongoing threat of illnesses and diseases caused by mosquitoes and ticks, it was a natural fit to add control of these horrific pests to our offerings.
Since 1997 Jim has been very active in the lawn care industry, as well as with charitable organizations. He served as President of the Massachusetts Association of Lawn Care Professionals in 2003, President of the Professional Lawn Care Association of America in 2004, YMCA Director from 2002-2004, and President of the Rotary Club of Nashua West in 2006/2007. Jim currently serves on the board of directors for the National Association of Landscape Professionals.
In August of 2009 Jim partnered with a private investment group in an effort to grow Lawn Dawg throughout the northeast and beyond.
